The legendary Ferrania P30 is now available!
The Italian masters of the mid-20th century – film directors like Pier Paolo Pasolini, Vittorio De Sica, Roberto Rossellini, and Federico Fellini – created many of their most iconic films on P30 stock.
The look of P30 in cinema became so popular that in 1958, a version was created for still photography.

Ferrania P30 is newly manufactured film – not rebranded stock.
It is proudly made in the reimagined factory on the grounds of the original Ferrania company, in Cairo Montenotte, Italy.
Each roll of this 80iso black and white film features a high silver content, providing high-contrast negatives with almost no visible grain. Shadows are deep and rich. Highlights are punchy and sharp.

– 36 exposures per roll
– 80ISO black and white film
– Made in Italy
– Very smooth, barely visible grain
– High contrast
– Freshly made, direct from the Ferrania factory.

The Film Ferrania story is truly remarkable.
For much of the 20th Century, Ferrania was one of the world's largest film manufacturers.
With their huge factory in Northern Italy, they produced millions of rolls per year for decades, both under the Ferrania brand and various others, like Solaris and TudorColor.
Like many other film companies, the early 2000's were a time of upheaval with the switch to digital, and by 2008 the company was bust and its huge factory sat empty.
In 2012, Nicola Baldini and Marco Pagni founded the modern Film Ferrania company, and in 2014 ran a successful kickstarter campaign, raising enough money to save one of the original small research and production factories on the Ferrania campus.
After many years troubleshooting machinery and production issues and modernising their new (old) factory building, Ferrania is now running continuous production of beautiful black and white film in their very own factory!
There are only a handful of companies in the world who can still manufacture film, and Ferrania have now re-joined that exclusive club.
All Ferrania film is made in their factory in Italy. It is not re-packaged or re-branded film from another manufacturer.
Support this pioneering company and the important work they are doing, try out some of their beautiful film today!

Timothy U. ★★★★★

Shooting with this film feels like stepping into a Fellini frame—the grain is beautifully pronounced and the contrast has that timeless Italian cinema look. I exposed a roll at box speed on a bright day and the midtones came out with a rich, creamy texture I haven't seen in modern stocks.

Ellie D. ★★★★★

Shot my first roll of this 80 ISO stock in bright afternoon sun and the contrast is gorgeous — deep blacks without losing detail in the shadows. Grain is there but tight, more texture than noise. Loading it in my old rangefinder was painless too.

Claire ★★★★★

The tonality on this 80 ISO stock is unlike anything else I've shot — deep blacks and contrast that make my street shots look like stills from a Rossellini film. Loading it in my 35mm camera was painless, and the grain is fine and tight even when pushed a stop.
