Metallica：黑白專輯《The Black Album》

Seeing Ross Halfin’s behind-the-scenes shots of the band during the Black Album era brought back a flood of memories. The hardcover binding feels substantial, and the photo paper has a nice matte finish that doesn’t glare under my reading lamp.

I’ve been a fan since the 90s, and this book captures the raw energy of that era perfectly—the black-and-white photos of the band in studio are exactly what I wanted. The paper quality feels substantial, and the binding lays flat so you can actually study each shot without fighting the spine.

The layout is clean and the print quality on the photos is sharp, which makes flipping through the shots from that 1991 era feel like a proper time capsule. I’ve spent more time than I expected just staring at the live shots Ross captured.
